Flexible & breathable
Thermal CorkShield is designed to expand and contract with exterior surfaces while allowing water vapour to pass through the coating.
A high-performance exterior finish featuring VIPEQ Thermal CorkShield — professionally applied by Columbia Wall Systems.
Painting changes the look of a wall. Cork Armour is built around a spray-applied cork finish that adds a flexible, breathable layer while renewing the exterior appearance.
VIPEQ Thermal CorkShield can be applied over many properly prepared surfaces, including stucco, masonry, wood and metal. That makes it especially interesting for homeowners who want to refresh an existing exterior without automatically tearing everything off.
Renew the exterior. Add protection. Keep the character of the home.
Every project starts with an assessment of the existing wall and substrate. The right preparation is part of the system.
Thermal CorkShield is designed to expand and contract with exterior surfaces while allowing water vapour to pass through the coating.
Cork has low thermal conductivity. VIPEQ publishes a thermal conductivity value of 0.058 W/mK for Thermal CorkShield.
VIPEQ publishes a Class A fire rating under ASTM E84 and CAN/ULC S102 testing. Cork Armour is one part of an exterior system — not a claim that a home is wildfire-proof.
TEXTURE
COLOURCork Armour has a distinctive textured, matte appearance that can modernize an older exterior or complement new architecture.
We can review colours and physical samples with you so the finish is selected against the actual stone, soffit, windows and other materials on your home — not just from a screen.
Columbia Wall Systems brings exterior-wall experience to Cork Armour — preparation, crack repair, masking, transitions and finish work all matter before the cork is sprayed.

Heat, sun, freeze-thaw cycles and wildfire awareness are part of living in the Okanagan. We believe homeowners deserve clear information about what an exterior product can — and cannot — do.
Thermal CorkShield has published fire-performance test results and useful material properties, but no exterior coating makes a building wildfire-proof. Resilience depends on the complete building assembly, openings, roof, detailing, landscaping and conditions around the home.
VIPEQ reports a Class A fire rating according to ASTM E84-20 and CAN/ULC S102-10, including a published flame-spread result of 0 in the cited testing.
These are product test results, not a guarantee of how an entire home will perform in a wildfire.
Before you do, let us show you what cork can offer. We can assess your existing exterior, talk through preparation and colour options, and determine whether Thermal CorkShield is a good fit for the home.
Product-performance statements on this page are based on manufacturer-published information for VIPEQ Thermal CorkShield. The VIPEQ 15-year warranty is a limited product warranty for qualifying applications and does not cover installation. CorkShield is not fireproof and does not make a building wildfire-proof.
